The Retained Search Process Our process includes a deep dive discovery, custom vetting forms, testing, benchmarking, candidate refinement, and comprehensive consultation throughout the hiring journey.
Discovery of need – deep dive meeting understanding the skill-set, the culture fit, the strategic role they play in the company, and personality traits that are needed to achieve desired outcomes. This discovery goes beyond a typical job debrief and description. We get vulnerable with the client and understand what makes them tick and why this role is so important… that is the detail needed to perform and the pain point to fix.

Create testing/validation process to verify skills and map out personality and culture fits.
Benchmark candidates – Send over candidates that are 75% or better matches to the open need and ask for good, bad, and ugly feedback so that we can continue to fine tune and pin point the best fits and most desired profiles.

We worked with a mid-size company about 225 million in annual revenue that specialized in chemicals and cleaning agents.
They were in dire need of a specialized chemist that would expand their product offerings through R&D and had a background in human care products. This was a big pivot in thought and products for the client so they needed a specialist and someone with a proven track record but at a mid-western price level.
Our team engaged with a retained search solution, created specialized vetting and validation processes that allowed us to know if the skills were aligned to the clients needs. We then filtered qualified candidates through the cost of living adjustments / comparisons for our client’s location to theirs to identify gaps and possible upside relocations where it benefited candidates to move. Lastly, we had the opportunity to profile a consultant that had a lot of desirable traits and set a curve of culture and personality fit. This was the third step and filter that we worked candidates through to deliver best fit for position.
We started with over 200 hundred candidates and within 2 weeks of work had delivered 8 total candidates of which 3 were chosen for multiple interviews and ultimately led to an offer an hire. This hire allowed our client to now in-house an entire new R&D and menu of products saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars by having the specialty under their roof and not having to outsource all of this work to a co-packer or possibly a competitor to do for them.
